Legendary Keyboard Giants scheduled to appear<\/em><\/p>

The Winter NAMM Expo, which invades Anaheim California every January, is a great place to meet and greet the personalities from every genre of music. The Guitar players get a lot of the press, but the perhaps greatest concentration of essential talent is at the HAMMOND USA booth.<\/p>

This year at Booth 5100b will certainly deliver those goods. The dean of all Jazz Organists Dr. Lonnie Smith will once again be in residence, along with Jazz titan Ike Stubblefield. Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame members Felix Cavaliere (Rascals) and Gregg Rolie (Santana) will be appearing as will U2\/Pink Keyboardist and Programmer Terry Lawless. From the Conan show band, Scott Healy will appear, and from the bands Yes and Asia, Geoff Downes.<\/p>

Lynyrd Skynyrd\u2019s Peter Keys always loves to meet his fans, as does Alan Hewitt of the Moody Blues. From The Sons Of Champlin and Chicago comes Bill Champlin and Larry Goldings keyboards for James Taylor. Prog fans will delight in meeting Ryo Okumoto of Spock\u2019s Beard; and the rockers won\u2019t be left out with Dizzy Reed of Guns N\u2019 Roses representing.<\/p>

Modern Jazz aficionados can catch the critic\u2019s choices Brian Charette, Jim Alfredson, and Wil Blades and see them play \u201cup close\u201d. This is just a partial list of the Artists scheduled to appear over the four days of the NAMM expo.<\/p>

\u00a0Recorded at The Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta on August 17, 2013, Spirits\u2026Live was captured during Justin Hayward\u2019s tour in support of his recently released solo album Spirits Of The Western Sky \u2013 his first since 1996\u2019s The View From The Hill. The legendary Moody Blues guitarist\/vocalist, joined by acoustic guitarist Mike Dawes and keyboardists\/background vocalists Alan Hewitt <\/b>and Julie Ragins, presented a set of 15 songs, selected from the new album and some Moodys favorites. New tracks like \u201cOne Day, Someday,\u201d \u201cIn Your Blue Eyes,\u201d and \u201cThe Western Sky,\u201d nestle comfortably between classics such as \u201cNights In White Satin,\u201d \u201cTuesday Afternoon,\u201d and \u201cQuestion,\u201d encapsulating Hayward\u2019s rich career as a songwriter. \u201cSound Soul Summit\u201d<\/b>\u00a0featuring several well-known Hammond organists co-sponsored by Keyboard Magazine, will take place at the Anaheim Hilton on Jan. 24 9:00 PM.<\/div>
The event celebrates the 80th anniversary of Hammond Organ, and the charter inductees into the Hammond Hall of Fame. Featured artists will include Brian Auger and Oblivion Express, singer\/songwriter Bill Champlin, the Jon Hammond Quartet featuring Bernard Purdie on drums, and Spock\u2019s Beard keyboardist Ryo Okumoto. Jazz organists Jim Alfredson and Ron Oswanski will be joined by gospel artist Rev. Jimmie Smith for a tribute to Hall of Famer and jazz icon Jimmy Smith. A salute to Chicago rock will feature the original singers of the Buckinghams and Cryan Shames: Dennis Tufano and Tom \u201cToad\u201d Doody, who will be joined by \u00a0Moody Blues keyboardist Alan Hewitt\u00a0<\/b>, harmonica player Brandon Bailey.
